As I sit here at my computer to share these images with the world, I find myself a little speechless. Knowing this session was on my books and not knowing how to prepare other than showing up and just being my messy, complicated self . . . I realized something on my drive home from beautiful Mount Vernon, Oregon that has been living so deep in my soul that it shocked me.

Spending the most precious time with couples as they start the next journey of their love story together is an absolute honor and a blessing. Trevor and the strikingly gorgeous Jena, opened the doors to their new home and Trevor’s childhood home to me without the slightest hesitation. In fact, I would venture that this uninhibited hospitality is something they show everyone who visits their ranch. And the pride in Trevor’s voice when he talks about the work his family has done and the dreams he has for the future of these ranches reminds me of the way my father talks about ours. It’s a language I understand and a language I speak.

Choosing a handful of images to share with the world from Jena & Trevor’s session is not an easy task. Every image is breathtaking . . . not because of my work, but because of the kindness, love and respect they have for each which radiates in every image. This is bond of epic strength and I am honored to be the one chosen to capture it.
