I’m so excited to share these special images from Zach & Katie’s engagement session and also wish them a very happy wedding week! We definitely did this session a little late in the game, but if you ask me . . .everything was in perfect timing. Zach & Katie showed me around the prized Stahlbush Island Farms, family farm of the bride and it was breathtaking in every single way and detail. In fact, although it has grown in size, I recognized the farm from a tour in my Oregon State University days. Go Beavs! Notably, I even happen to make it through the security check without issue and at that point, I knew we were going to have a fabulous evening (I’m quite known for my security mishaps. Ha!). We began our session, or as I like to call it “Evenings with Shana” by capturing images on the beautiful grounds surrounding Katie’s childhood home and ended the evening at their gorgeous blueberry and black berry vineyard which will be backdrop as they say their wedding vows this coming weekend. Zach and I sent a majority of our time discussing the ‘black berry’ vs. a berry that is black debacle. It was very technical and much too complicated to discuss here, but I believe he came around to my way of thinking, although I abruptly ended the conversation when we asked me what type of berries I prefer when I bake pies . . . . .crickets . . . . I believe he meant what type of berries I prefer when I eat pies, but that’s just an assumption. As we got to know each other and they became more comfortable with my antics, I continually asked them to ‘give me one more kiss’. So, there is that. Thankfully, they just kissed each other, regardless of my awkward phrasing. How about finishing up by popping a bottle of champagne to celebrate? Yep, I think so.
